Program Wins "Platinum Best Of Show, 1997" Award

Aurora Awards, a national competition honoring excellence in the film and video industries
named "Taking Pictures Further," a video training program developed for Eastman
Kodak's Digital and Applied Imaging Group, its "Platinum Best Of Show, 1997"
"We are honored to have been named one of the
Platinum Award winners for the Aurora Awards, " stated Dave Brock, president of
Partners In EXCELLENCE.
"This program represented the best in
collaboration between our client, Eastman Kodak, and our production partners, Chuck
Chubbuck of C-Squared Communications and Karl Wilkens of Wilkens Associates,"
Brock added, "Without the collective talents of all involved, we would not have been
able to produce a video training program of this quality."
The program was designed to introduce both consumers and
dealers to concepts and applications of digital photography. It sought to stimulate
people's imaginations and creativity in thinking about how they might incorporate digital
photography into their lives. Several real life scenarios were used to introduce
concepts and stimulate the imagination. Scenarios included an artist using digital
imaging as a means of stimulating his creativity and extending media available to create
new works; a real estate agent using a digital camera to aid in presenting homes and ideas
to clients; and a skating club using digital imaging and the Internet to communicate to
families and friends at home and around the world. The National Inventors Hall of
Fame in Akron, Ohio was used as a backdrop for the video and Gina St. John of CNET Central
served as the program's host.
Kodak used this program as one of the training
elements for its dealer partners. It helped dealer sales people understand basic
applications and some of the underlying technology supporting digital photography.
Using these concepts, they were able to communicate more clearly the benefits of digital
photography to their customers.
