experience includes more than 20 years in sales, marketing and general management
positions with IBM, Tektronix, and Keithley Instruments. As a line executive, he has had
responsibility for developing high performance organizations. These organizations attained
leadership positions in their industries.
In his work in re-engineering sales organizations, Dave has
extensive experience in working with direct (company owned) sales channels, indirect
(distribution, retail, manufacturer's representative, and multi-tiered distribution)
direct-marketing, telesales, e-commerce and hybrid models. Much of Daves work is in
consulting with organizations in developing and implementing business strategies, sales,
marketing, customer support, and service strategies. He works with organizations to help
achieve a customer focus in all aspects of their business strategy.
The work Dave does in developing and implementing business
strategies is closely tied to personal effectiveness of the people in the organization. As
a result, Dave is deeply involved in the development of a number of training and coaching
programs, both customized and proprietary, as well as Partners In EXCELLENCE own
Dimensions of EXCELLENCE programs.
As a consultant and trainer, he has worked with a number of the
leading companies in the world, including HP, IBM, AT&T, Eastman Kodak,
Verizon, AT&T, Nokia, Microsoft, Ericsson, Oracle, Informatica, KeyCorp, GE Capital, NCR,
Tekelec, Novozymes, Motorola, BBN, Dassault Systemes, Keithley
Instruments, American Greetings, Dell/Perot Systems, and others. Dave serves on the boards of
several early stage companies and not-for-profit organizations.
Dave is very active in social
media, as a speaker, and in the press. He is on the advisory boards of
SalesEdgeOne.com, TheCustomerCollective.com, and TopSalesWorld.com. He
is a featured speaker in many webinars and events. His blog,
Making A Difference has received much recognition as one of
the top sales, leadership, and business strategy blogs in the world.
Dave also advises a number of industry associations and small
businesses. His specific focus is in helping organizations dramatically improve the
effectiveness of their organizations through assisting them in strategy development,
organizational planning and implementation. Daves educational background includes a
MBA from UCLA and a BSME from UC Berkeley. Dave also served as an instructor of management
and leadership at the UCLA Graduate School of Management. Dave is a member of
the San Diego Venture Council, PDMA,
NBIA, SMEI, IMC and ASQ.
